His desire is that you will turn to Him so He can save you. However the Bible tells us that God is Holy (set apart) and Just, without sin. The Bible points out something that we are aware of, we are sinful. Who can say they have never broken any of God's laws? Who of us hasn't lied, stolen, used God's name in vain, etc.? The Bible goes on to inform us of the problem this creates for mankind and then offers a remarkable solution. It tells us what God is seeking in us is a humble and contrite heart. God's desire is that we will stop comparing ourselves to other people and take an honest look at our lives in comparison to Gods Holy standard. If we do this honestly we will see that we fall far short of the Holiness God requires. The bad news is we are all sinners. The good news is that God has made a way to save us. Once we see our desperate need for the righteousness only God can offer us, God asks us to trust His plan and to simply place our faith and trust in Jesus and what He accomplished in dying on the cross and rising again. Please read the following verses one by one. After you have read a verse, pause and consider what that verse is saying to you. Walking this path will lead you to understand why you need a Savior and how to be saved. Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God Pause What have we all done? Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Pause What are the wages earned by sin? What is the free gift God is offering you instead? Romans 5:8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Pause Why did Christ die for us? When did Christ die for us? Romans 10:13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Pause Who will be saved? Romans 10:9,10 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Pause What must a person do to be saved? What will you do? These verses are quite clear and you should now realize that your salvation rests in your decision. If you desire to confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, the Bible is very clear, you will be saved. If this is your desire, cry out to God right now. The sacrifices God desires are a humble spirit--O God, a humble and repentant heart you will not reject. Psalm 51:17 (NET) Are You Ready To Receive Jesus Christ As Lord and Savior? Confess that you are a sinner. Repent (turn from your own ways and trust God). We have included a small prayer next but the words are not as important as your heart. The Bible speaks of our relationship with God as a marriage and we have been the unfaithful partner. Consider what you might say to a your spouse or best friend if you wanted them back after rejecting them and being unfaithful. Just cry out from your heart right now, Pray to God to have the Spirit of His son, Jesus Christ, come dwell inside your heart. And with that, you can receive the gift of God’s grace and a promise of life spent in heaven after your life here on earth. Here is a simple prayer you can say to receive Christ: “Father, I confess that I am a sinner. I repent of my sins and my ways. I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins on the cross and was raised for my justification. I do now receive and confess Him as my personal Savior.” If you prayed that prayer with a sincere heart, you are now a child of God. We encourage you to prayerfully seek a local church that will assist you in growing as a new Christian by the clear teaching of the Bible.
